← All legal documents

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CleanPhone service, including the CleanPhone Setup application, the CleanPhone parent portal at my.cleanphone.info, and related websites, APIs, and features (collectively, the "Service"), operated by CleanTechnology, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our").

BY CREATING AN ACCOUNT, ENROLLING A DEVICE, OR OTHERWISE USING THE SERVICE, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THE SERVICE.

Your use of the CleanPhone Setup application software is also governed by our End User License Agreement (EULA), and your information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Both are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1. Description of the Service

CleanPhone is a parental control and mobile device management (MDM) service that helps parents and legal guardians monitor and manage a child's mobile device. As described in the in-app Data Collection Disclosure, the Service allows you to:

  • Monitor device location, application usage and screen time, SMS messages, phone call logs, and the device contact list.
  • Manage the device remotely, including allowing or blocking individual apps, disabling internet access on a schedule or on demand, and locking the device screen during scheduled restricted hours (phone calls and alarms remain accessible during locked periods).
  • Enroll the device under the CleanPhone MDM system and link it to your parent account.

The Service is a tool to assist parents and is not a substitute for direct parental supervision. We do not guarantee that the Service will detect, report, or prevent any particular activity, content, or communication.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and the parent or legal guardian of the child whose device is enrolled, or otherwise legally authorized to monitor and manage that device.
  • You are responsible for providing accurate account information and for keeping your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
  • You must have the legal authority to install the Service on the enrolled device, to consent to the data collection described in the Privacy Policy, and to provide any legally required notice to users of that device.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not, and will not authorize or permit anyone else to:

  • Use the Service to monitor or manage any device or individual over whom you do not have lawful authority.
  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including laws governing surveillance, wiretapping, electronic communications, consent, and the privacy of minors.
  • Use the Service to stalk, harass, harm, defraud, or unlawfully surveil any person.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems or networks.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service, or circumvent any security or access-control measures.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or misuse the Service or its APIs except as expressly permitted.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our prior written consent.

You are solely responsible for your lawful and appropriate use of the Service and for the consequences of installing it on any device.

4. Consent, Data, and Privacy

All personal data collection through the Service is gated by explicit in-app consent, as described in the in-app Data Collection Disclosure and our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, storage, and transmission of data as described there. Collected data is transmitted securely over HTTPS, is accessible only to the linked parent account, and is used solely for parental monitoring and device management purposes. We do not sell your data to third parties.

You represent that you have obtained any consents from, and provided any notices to, users of the enrolled device that are required by applicable law.

Website Cookies. Our websites (including phone.cleanrouter.com and the parent portal at my.cleanphone.info) use cookies and similar technologies. Cookies that are strictly necessary for a site to function are always active; analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) are set only after you opt in, and no analytics cookie is written or third-party tracking script loaded before you agree. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Manage Cookies" link in the website footer. See the "Website Cookies and Tracking" section of our Privacy Policy for the full list of cookies, their purposes, durations, and recipients. By continuing to use our websites after opting in, you consent to the use of cookies as described there.

5. Google Account Linking

During setup, the Service may open Google's own sign-in prompt so that a Google account can be linked to the enrolled device. We never see or store the Google username or password; the account is added directly through Google on the device. Your use of any Google account or Google service is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policies, for which we are not responsible.

6. Device Controls and Availability

The Service enables remote device controls, including screen locking, internet disabling, and app blocking. You acknowledge that:

  • These controls depend on device connectivity, operating system behavior, device settings, and third-party services, and may not always operate as intended or in real time.
  • Certain functions (such as phone calls and alarms) may remain available on the device even during restricted or locked periods.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of any control or feature.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law.

7. Data Storage and Loss

The Service does not store or back up device documents, photos, videos, or other individual user files. You are responsible for backing up such files (for example, using Google Drive or another storage service). CleanTechnology, Inc. is not responsible for any loss of data, files, or content arising from your use of the Service, from device enrollment, from device unenrollment or factory reset, or from any device malfunction.

8. Fees and Subscriptions

Some features of the Service may require a paid subscription. If you purchase a subscription:

  • Applicable fees, billing frequency, and renewal terms will be disclosed at the time of purchase.
  • Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, and you authorize us or our payment processor to charge the applicable fees on each renewal.
  • You may cancel in accordance with the cancellation method disclosed at purchase or through the applicable app store. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.
  • Purchases made through a third-party app store are also subject to that store's terms and refund policies.

We may change our fees prospectively; changes will not affect the current paid term already in effect.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and all associated software, content, trademarks, and materials are owned by CleanTechnology, Inc. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. "CleanPhone" and "CleanTechnology" and associated logos are our trademarks and may not be used without our permission.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with or relies on third-party services (including Google Firebase and Google Play Services). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service, and your use of them may be governed by their respective terms and policies.

11. Term, Suspension, and Termination

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time and may unenroll the device to stop further data collection. Depending on how the device was enrolled, fully removing device management may require a factory reset of the device.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time if you violate these Terms, the EULA, or applicable law, or to protect the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, and 15) will survive.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL DETECT, REPORT, OR PREVENT ANY PARTICULAR ACTIVITY OR CONTENT. THE SERVICE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PARENTAL SUPERVISION.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CLEANTECHNOLOGY, INC. BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY AND EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (USD $25.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CleanTechnology, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms, the EULA, or any applicable law; or (c) your installation or use of the Service on a device you were not legally authorized to monitor or manage.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE OF INCORPORATION], United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to any applicable mandatory consumer-protection laws, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in [COUNTY, STATE] for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

16. Children's Privacy

The Service is designed to be installed by a parent or guardian on a child's device. We recognize the sensitive nature of collecting data from devices used by minors and comply with applicable children's privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). See our Privacy Policy for details on how children's data is handled.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will indicate material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, by providing additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. General

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the EULA and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability: If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign them freely.
  • Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
